Mastering SQL and database design for reliable data
Explore my expertise in building robust database structures and crafting efficient SQL queries. Discover how I transform complex data challenges into clear, actionable insights.

Project highlight: Relational database for multi-department workflow
Challenge solved: The original data was scattered across spreadsheets with duplicate entries, inconsistent formats, and no way to track relationships between departments. This created a chaotic environment for data management.
What I built: I designed a fully normalized relational database (up to 3NF) with clear entity relationships, primary/foreign keys, and constraints to enforce data integrity across all departments. This systematic approach brought order to the data chaos.
Cool result: The new structure eliminated redundancy, significantly improved data accuracy, and made it possible to run complex JOIN queries that were previously impossible, providing a holistic view of operations.

Project highlight: SQL analytics query suite for operational insights
Challenge solved: Stakeholders needed answers to critical questions like “Which categories are performing best?” and “Where are the bottlenecks?” — but they lacked the analytical tools to extract these insights from their existing data.
What I built: I developed a comprehensive suite of SQL queries utilizing JOINs, GROUP BY clauses, aggregate functions, subqueries, and advanced filtering logic. These queries were designed to extract meaningful, actionable insights directly from the database.
Cool result: The queries revealed previously hidden trends and performance indicators, empowering stakeholders to make data-driven decisions that optimized operations and improved overall efficiency.

My unique approach to SQL and database design
My expertise in SQL and database design is a significant advantage for employers because I don’t just write queries — I understand how data should be structured, organized, and optimized before analysis even begins. Many analysts can work with data after it’s clean; I design the systems that make the data clean, consistent, and reliable in the first place.
What makes my approach stand out is the combination of technical skill and real-world decision-making experience. Working in high-stakes environments like quality assurance and 9-1-1 dispatch taught me to be precise, detail-oriented, and disciplined with information. That mindset carries directly into how I design schemas, enforce constraints, and write queries that are accurate, efficient, and easy to maintain. Employers benefit from someone who can think beyond the query — someone who understands data integrity, normalization, relationships, and how to build structures that scale. My approach ensures that the data is trustworthy.
